"Getting Rather Cross"

Films: The Evil (1978)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of a medium-sized house.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: The importance of holy artifacts cannot be stated enough. If one is to underestimate their power, it can lead to potential disaster.

History: Once belonging to Emilio Vargas, this mansion was built upon sulfur pits often referred to by the local Native Americans as "the Valley of the Devils". And they weren't wrong. For below this house is a gateway to Satan's domain, and should an ornate cross be removed from its place, evil will dominate the house. Now it's been removed.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The doctor who got us into this mess eventually confronts Satan in a white void below the house. Yet despite the evil being's manipulation, another comes in to stab him in the chest with the cross. Now that Satan's gone, Vargas' ghost can finally rest in peace.

Powers/Abilities: Manipulation of reality.

Weakness: The ornate cross.

Scariness Factor: 3-With all of the fatal haunting, this place would be scarier, but something's off with Satan. He looks like an overweight beer-guzzler in a nice suit rather than a true lord of darkness. Then again, eons of exile from Heaven might do that to you.

Trivia: -Satan was played by Victor Buono, whom you might now recognize as Otto the Butcher from earlier.

-This film was also known as "Cry Demon", "House of Evil", and "The Evil Below".
